VoTV patients were interviewed on World Head and Neck Cancer Day in Jaipur.
VoTV oral cancer patient shared his story along with his son with media. He mentioned that he enjoyed chewing Gutka for 15 years and with the cancer now his life, family and savings have completely going bad to worse. His son mentioned that they had to beg for money for treatment of his father. Another patient with laryngectomy shared his story and appealed to government to ban all forms of tobacco citing his sufferings.
Dr. Pawan Singhal, Associate professor and head and neck cancer expert at SMS Hospital said there are more cases of head and neck cancer in India and 90% of these cases were due to consumption of tobacco, liquor and areca nut and all these cases are preventable.
