VoTV on the Occasion of Launch of “Clean Campus Safe Campus”, in Kerala
VoTV was conducted on the occasion of launching of “The Clean Campus Safe Campus campaign,” targeting at curbing tobacco and other substance use in educational institutions is a joint initiative of Home, Education and Health Departments.
While inaugurating the state-wide launch of the long-term ‘Clean Campus, Safe Campus’ Kerala Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy said that tobacco taxes will be raised further in the state to curb consumption.
Tobacco Oral cancer victim, Mr. Saju K from Kollam shared his experiences in the presence of the dignitaries and made an appeal to stop use of tobacco products.
Home Minister Shri Ramesh Chennithala, Education Minister Shri PK Abdu Rabb and Health Minister Shri VS Sivakumar were present, as also the State Police Chief KS Balasubramanian IPS, Education Secretary Shri A Shajahan IAS, DIG (Intelligence) Shri P Vijayan IPS and Director, Health Services Dr PK Jameela.
More than 1000 students who had assembled made a pledge administered by the Home Minister against substance use.
