Tobacco cessation for the law enforcement agency
A dental camp for the awareness of Oral Health and ill effects of tobacco, Pan-masala, Gutka and a session for tobacco cessation were conducted in Police Hospital at Vidisha for the Police Force and their families in the district place with one of the highest occurrence number of chewing tobacco victims in the country.
Around 150 Police Persons were examined and 65 of them were found having habit of consuming tobacco or Pan masala. The general crowd was informed about the ill-effects of tobacco by an audio-visuals by Dr. Niraj Shakti Nigam and the de-addiction method followed by a personal interview of a tobacco victim Shri Ram Prasad who had undergone the surgery and lost his half of the Mandible 10 year back to get rid of deadly disease whose story of survival was an eye opener for the crowd. After this, all the Police Persons were examined and medicines were distributed.
In the function, Superintendent of District Police Shri. Dharmendra Chowdhari and other Police Officers were present. IDA Bhopal Br. President Dr. Pratima Bajpai, Sec Dr N. R. Chorasia, Ex IDA M.P. State Pres Dr Sanjeev Bajpai. Dr. Mr & Mrs. Paliwal have not only addressed the crowd but render their services also.
